Seminar about “IEEE Membership” at AAU

 

The IEEE AAU Student Branch organized a seminar, entitled “IEEE Membership: Its mission … It's Benefits … The Organization” in the College of Engineering – Abu Dhabi Campus. Many students and faculty members attended this talk, offered by Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (Dean, College of Engineering).

In this seminar, Dr. Khaddaj Mallat provided an overview about the Organization of IEEE, its vision and mission, the benefits and opportunities of IEEE Membership, and the IEEE Special Interest Memberships. He also explained that being an active IEEE member gives us the opportunity to meet and learn from others (fellow students, faculty members and professionals), to attend and participate in organizing many educational/technical / professional activities, meetings, local and regional conferences/workshops/competitions. The IEEE members benefit a lot in developing their leadership, interpersonal and team building skills.

At the end, Dr. Khaddaj Mallat informed the attendees that the College of Engineering and the IEEE AAU Student Branch will provide full support to the IEEE members in the activities.

It is worth mentioning that the IEEE AAU Student Branch was formed in April 2013 and it is among the most active Student Branches in the IEEE UAE Section. Where Al Ain University is always ready to embrace and support the IEEE UAE Section’s scientific and social activities considering as an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss ideas with others.
