AAU offers Civil Engineering Program

Starting from the new academic year 2018-2019, Al Ain University offers a new program in the College of Engineering which is the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in its both campuses, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. Which seeks to provide students with theoretical and basic knowledge of engineering and mathematics sciences and technical fields of civil engineering.

The program contributes to qualify professional graduates who are able to think and analyze the local and international economic and take right decisions. In addition to provide them with leadership skills, self-learning, professional development, and promote effective communication and civic participation in the UAE community.

Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, said that the Civil Engineering Program has been designed in line with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, which aims to equip a highly skilled and productive workforce to develop the labor market. And, this also comes in line with the AAU’s vision, which meets the leadership aspirations to improve the education sector and the development of national competencies.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, said that Al Ain University will provide a high quality of education in civil engineering through this program, It is also keen to prepare the students to practice their careers efficiently to meet the changing needs of the UAE. Stressing the importance of the civil engineer's role in several areas, where they affect the lives of people and provide them with an environment suitable for life and work.

Students who would like to study in the Civil Engineering Program are required to obtain a UAE secondary school certificate or its equivalent approved by the Ministry of Education in the UAE with a minimum average of 60%, in addition to, a valid English Language Proficiency score of at least 500 in TOFEL, or 5 band in IELTS.
