“Master of Criminal Sciences” a new program in the College of Law

In Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses, Al Ain University offered Master of Criminal Sciences as a new program in the College of Law, which will contribute to graduate a new generation who will be able to analyze legal texts and practical cases in a scientific and innovative manner and assess various legislative, judicial and doctrinal orientations of the Emirati Legal system.

Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, said that the program seeks to contribute the AAU’s mission of the dissemination of knowledge and enriching original scientific research in the field of Criminal Sciences. It also supports the University’s efforts in developing human resources and meeting the needs of the UAE community as well as the GCC for specialized legal professionals who are able to keep up with scientific developments and accompanying new legislations.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, said that Al Ain University will provide a high quality of education through this program, it is also keen to prepare the students to practice their careers efficiently to meet the changing needs of the UAE. Stressing the importance of criminal sciences in suggesting innovative legal solutions, leading to the development of legislative provisions in contributing to the societal developments.

Prof. Mustafa Qandeel, Dean of the College of Law, said that the admission is open to the students who must have a bachelor's degree in Law recognized by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates or its equivalent, with cumulative average not to be less than 3 or 4 points or the equivalent. Also, Students must have a minimum score of 950 in Emsat, or 450 in the TOEFL ITP or 4.5 in IELTS. He also added that, after their graduation, students will be able to work in Judicial positions, practicing the legal profession and obtaining legal positions in various institutions.
