British Council Delegation Visits Al Ain University
Al Ain University President, Prof. Ghaleb A. El Refae met with a delegation from the British Council to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting took place in Al Ain campus and was attended by Mr. Simon Green, the newly-appointed Director of Examinations at the British Council Gulf South, Mr. Deep Adhikari, former Director of Examinations at the British Council Gulf South, Ms. Krithika Shankar, Head of Business Development at the British Council, Abu Dhabi. Also were present Dr. Abdelghani Remache, Director of the English Center and Director of the English Language and Translation program at Al Ain University.
Prof. Ghaleb El Refae highlighted the university's pivotal role in disseminating knowledge and skills to the community, aligning with Al Ain University's mission and strategic objectives. He also stressed Al Ain University’s commitment to providing high-quality, efficient, and excellent services in the field of IELTS, not only for Al Ain University’s students but also for the entire community. Prof. Ghaleb El Refae also emphasized the importance of cooperation in areas beyond IELTS with the British Council, notably in scientific, technological, and educational fields and reiterated that such collaboration already represents a significant advancement, especially concerning administering IELTS.
Mr. Simon Green, Director of Examinations at the British Council Gulf South, expressed appreciation for Al Ain University’s national ranking in administering IELTS and stated that the British Council was honored to have formed such a partnership with Al Ain University. Prof. El Refae and Mr. Green also discussed the possibility of student exchanges between Al Ain University and English universities in the near future.
