Orientation Session for New Students in the Second Semester 2024-2025

The Deanship of Student Affairs at the university's Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses organized two special orientation sessions for new students enrolling in the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The sessions was to welcome the new students and introduce them to the comprehensive university experience, starting from the educational environment and extending to the diverse campus life and various activities available to them.

At the Al Ain campus orientation, Prof. Ghaleb Al-Rifai, President of the University, attended alongside Prof. Ibtehal Aburezeq, the Vice President for Development and Follow-up Affairs, and the Dean of Student Affairs. In his welcoming speech, Prof. Al-Rifai emphasized the importance of university education as a pivotal stage in students' lives, noting that the university is not just a place for study but also a comprehensive environment for personal and professional skill development. He affirmed the university's commitment to providing the best possible educational experience and urged students to seize every opportunity through academic programs or extracurricular activities. He also pointed out that the university continuously strives to develop its programs and services to meet students' needs and enhance their university experience.

At the Abu Dhabi campus orientation, various university facilities were showcased, including modern classrooms, libraries with the latest educational tools, laboratories, and recreational and sports facilities. A detailed explanation was also provided about the services offered by the university, such as academic support, student counseling, and healthcare. Prof. Amer Qasem, Vice President of the University at the Abu Dhabi campus, emphasized in his welcoming speech the importance of this stage in students' lives, noting that the university will work diligently to provide the necessary academic support and care to ensure their success. He also stressed the university's commitment to offering a stimulating educational environment that helps students develop their skills and enhance their academic and personal abilities.

The new students were also introduced to the Student Council, essential in representing the student body and acting as a communication bridge between students and the university administration. The Vice President of the Student Council and other members provided a detailed explanation of the council’s activities, its role in organizing student events, and its efforts to improve the university environment, thus enriching the academic and social experience for students.

At the end of both sessions, an open discussion was held where new students were encouraged to ask questions. Their inquiries about academic programs, activities, and services available during their university journey were addressed.
