Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Network and Communications Engineering program provides an up to date introduction to the theory and practice of communications and network engineering including; analog and digital systems, wireless technologies, data exchange, digital logic analysis, networks and signal analysis. The program syllabus is constantly updated to reflect developments in the fields of networks and communications, in order to maintain a high standard of learning and equip program graduates with the necessary skills. The program provides students with ongoing academic supervision as well as professional experience and training through part-time internships with technology and communications companies.

Learning Outcomes

The students are expected to know and to be able to do by the time of graduation:

  • An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and networks and communication engineering
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs
  • An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
  • An ability to identify, formulate, and solve networks and communication engineering problems

  • An ability to communicate effectively
  • The broad education necessary to understand the impact of networks and communication engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context

  • A knowledge of contemporary issues
  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for networks and communications engineering practice.

Admission Requirements

  • UAE Secondary school Certificate (Science) or its equivalent approved by the UAE Ministry of Education, with a minimum average of 60%.
  • A valid English Language Proficiency Certificate in one of the below certificates or its equivalent, at least as the following:

Graduation Requirements

To obtain a degree of “Bachelor of Science in Networks and Communication Engineering”, a student must successfully complete 140 credit hours, including a 12 weeks internship, with a cumulative GPA of 2 out of 4.
