AAU Signs an MOU with the Society of Engineer (UAE)
Believing in the need of interacting with the community to raise the effectiveness of academic education and to link it with the labor market, Al Ain University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Society of Engineer (UAE), in order to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the engineering field.
The MOU was signed in the university’s campus in Abu Dhabi by Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh –AAU Chancellor- and Eng. Rayed Al Arshi -Board Member and Chairman of Arbitration Center, the two sides identified the cooperation areas in organizing common conferences and seminars, developing student’s abilities through the training programs, open the space for the AAU’s students to be a member in the society because of its importance in developing their communication skills and community interaction in addition to exchange knowledge between the society and the AAU academic staff.
The MOU signing was attended by Dr. Amer Qasem –AAU Vice President (Abu Dhabi Campus), Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat –Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Faten Kharbat –Deputy Dean of the College of Engineering, Eng. Tareq Al Suwaidi -General Manager and Mr. Mohamed M. Korym -Head of Membership.
Dr. Atatreh commented that this MOU reflects the AAU’s desire to interact with different institutions locally and internationally, raising the effectiveness of academic education and linking it to the labor market qualifications, and pointing out that signing this memorandum is only a new episode of the series of memorandums of understanding signed by Al Ain University for Science and Technology with various institutions in the past period.
For his part, Dr. Khaddaj Mallat said that this MOU between Al Ain University and the Society of Engineer (UAE) would achieve a productive cooperation in the community engagement fields between the two parties, raising the effectiveness of academic education and linking it to the labor market qualifications, stressing on the importance of activating the role of educational institutions in enriching the labor market with efficient national competencies.
Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will work during the coming period to coordinate the joint works and efforts to study and discuss the best mechanisms for implementing the provisions of the MOU and ensure to achieve all the desired benefits for both sides.
