A Field Trip to Al Mafraq Hospital
Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus) organized a field visit to the demolishing site of Al Mafraq for the Civil Engineering students, supervised by Dr. Omar Najm and Eng. Esraa Hijah.
The students met the project manager of the consultant company (Morgan Consultancy) who is handling the demolishing, and were introduced to various methods and techniques of demolishing, they were given safety induction in similar sites, had a full tour around the demolishing site, and saw the entire process.
This trip aimed to familiarize the students with demolishing process and engage them in the real life application of Structural Engineering and sustainability, as they learned more about separating and recycling materials from demolished building, which agrees with the constant support and emphasis of the College of Engineering regarding sustainable practical learning and community engagement.
