College of Business Students Excel in “Founders of Tomorrow” Competition
Students from Al Ain University’s College of Business, Dabia Alhosani and Mouza Almansoori, have won the “Founders of Tomorrow” competition under the supervision of Dr. Wejdan Farhan. The competition was organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME), part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), in partnership with INJAZ UAE.
The achievement follows a 10-month journey of innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial development, during which the students participated in the Healthcare Innovation Challenge, held under the theme “Transforming Healthcare Through Innovation,” in collaboration with American Hospital Dubai. Throughout the competition, students worked closely with healthcare sector representatives to better understand the selected challenge and develop an innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable business solution. Accompanied by their supervisor, the students engaged directly with designated representatives at the entity’s premises, gaining valuable exposure to real-world healthcare operations, industry practices, and professional expertise.
Launched to transform university innovations and entrepreneurial ideas into scalable, Emirati-owned enterprises, the Founders of Tomorrow initiative brought together 20 high-performing Emirati university students. Over an almost yearlong journey, the program featured multiple stages of learning, collaboration, idea development, and solution refinement.
By connecting university students with leading governmental and semi-governmental entities, the initiative created a valuable bridge between academia and the UAE’s economic and institutional priorities, giving participants the opportunity to apply their knowledge and creativity to real-world challenges. Our students’ success reflects the College of Business’s commitment to experiential learning, entrepreneurship, and innovation, while highlighting students' ability to turn academic knowledge and creative ideas into practical solutions with meaningful economic and societal impact.
