College of Engineering Students Win First Place at Dubai’s “Build for the Video Economy” Hackathon

Students from the College of Engineering at Al Ain University, Abu Dhabi Campus, achieved first place at the Build for the Video Economy – Dubai Hackathon. Organized by Replit, Oriane, and Creators HQ, the hackathon brought together 48 teams of developers, innovators, and content creators to develop technology-driven solutions for the rapidly evolving video and creator economy. Participants were challenged to transform their ideas into functional products within a single day, utilizing Replit’s development platform and Oriane’s video-intelligence technology.

Representing Al Ain University, College of Engineering students Bilal Feroz, Mohammed Umer, and Fuad Ahamed secured first place among the participating teams, demonstrating their technical competence, innovative thinking, and ability to apply their academic knowledge to practical challenges. The achievement highlights the students’ proficiency in software development, problem-solving, and collaborative innovation, as well as their ability to design and deliver functional solutions within demanding time constraints. The team participated under the supervision of Eng. Zaid Hadya, who provided guidance and support throughout their preparation and participation in the competition.

This accomplishment reflects Al Ain University’s commitment to fostering experiential learning, encouraging student participation in national innovation initiatives, and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world technological applications. The College of Engineering congratulates the winning students and their supervisor on this achievement and looks forward to their continued contributions to technological innovation and future competitions.
